Session 1: The First 100 Days and Beyond: What to Expect from Biden Administration and the 117th Congress
Presented by Ed Gilroy, American Trucking Associations

As the country continues to battle both public health and economic crises, President Biden and a new Congress face many serious challenges. Gilroy will discuss the challenges confronting the new President and new Congress, the near- and long-term actions being considered to address them, and the potential impact of those actions on the trucking industry.
Ed Gilroy currently serves as the senior vice president of legislative affairs for the American Trucking Associations (ATA). In this capacity, Gilroy oversees and manages all aspects of the ATA’s congressional affairs activities, including the development, implementation, and communication of all legislative initiatives affecting the trucking industry.

Prior to joining the ATA, Gilroy served as the director of Workforce Policy for the Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor. In that role, Gilroy managed the Committee’s workforce agenda, focusing on legislation affecting labor and employment, health care, pensions and welfare policy. His Congressional service also included time as a professional staff member for the Committee on Education and Labor; as well as legislative director for the U.S. Representative Rod Chandler of Washington State.

This is Gilroy’s second stint of service with the ATA. He previously worked in the Associations’ Capitol Hill office as vice president of legislative affairs, and represented the industry before Congress and the federal government on matters relating to labor and employment, employee benefits and tax. He provided similar representation before Congress on behalf of American manufacturers, serving in the Industrial Relations Department of the National Association of Manufacturers.
