Register for the third quarter meeting of the Arkansas Trucking Association Accounting & Finance Council on September 1 at 10:00 am at the The Victory Building, 1401 West Capitol Avenue, Suite 445, Little Rock, AR 72201.

  • review the developments of California’s AB 5
  • discuss broker liability related to AB 5
  • discuss corporate restricting and asset protection as it relates to AB 5
  • review the application of lease accounting standards
  • discuss lease account standards as they apply to independent contractors, trucks, trailers and office equipment
  • receive an update on the recent Arkansas Special Session and tax related changes and updates for businesses
  • discuss the impact of Section 179
  • review the ERC and related tax implications 
Participants will earn 3.0 CPE credits.

Session 2: Lease Accounting Standards

Dee Dee is a Managing Director in EY’s Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) practice.  She has more than 20 years of financial and accounting experience including public accounting, industry and the Securities and Exchange Commission. She has served and reviewed client filings in a variety of industries ranging from small start-ups to large, public and multi-national companies.
 

Hannah is a Senior Manager in EY’s Assurance Services practice. She has over 12 years of experience in public accounting, working in the United States and the United Kingdom. She has served clients in a variety of industries ranging from small private entities to publicly traded multi-national companies.

Session 3: Recap of Arkansas Special Session and Impact of Section 179
(CPE Taxes - 1 credit)
Presented by Richard Bell, President & CEO, Bell & Company, PA

Working for other accounting firms and serving as controller for a property management company, Richard developed a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals and decided to establish Bell & Company in 1982 with his wife, Lee. By doing so, Richard thought he could provide professional accounting and financial services that were delivered with competency, proficiency, timeliness, and reasonable fees. That became reality as Bell & Company has been thriving since 1982.

Richard’s areas of concentration are tax and financial consulting. Richard has niche extensive experience in the transportation industry serving as the public CPA for forty plus private carriers. Richard has written articles for transportation trade publications and provided continuing education seminars. Richard has also served as a forensic or expert witness in state and federal courts, involving transportation financial "damages" matters.

  • ATA members who attend without registering or register but do not attend will be charged $25.

  • ATA welcomes guests and non-members to Council meetings for $50.
