Event Description:
Arkansas Tax Reform and its Implications for Trucking and Related Businesses

Participants will:
- Receive a review of the Arkansas Tax Reform Task Force and the omnibus Task Force bill adopted as Act 822 of 2019
- Upcoming changes in the apportionment of multi-state business income for corporate income tax purposes
- Changes in the carry-forward period for net operating losses
- Reductions in the top corporate tax rate
- Discuss the impact of individual tax rate reductions on trucking company owners
Participants will earn 1.0 CPE credits.

Michael O. Parker is a member of the Little Rock law firm of Dover Dixon Horne PLLC and concentrates his practice in the areas of state and local tax and litigation, business law and regulatory issues. He received his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University, his J.D. degree with honors from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and has been a practicing attorney for over 40 years. For many of those years, Parker has advocated for changes to the Arkansas state tax code as tax counsel for the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas, and on behalf of individual clients; and has had a hand in writing and passing many of the more business-friendly bills adopted in recent years. Honors familiar to the public include Best Lawyers' Lawyer of the Year in Tax Litigation and Controversy and listings as a Mid-South Super Lawyer for several years.
Matthew C. Boch helps clients navigate state and local tax issues and leverage economic development incentives both in Arkansas and on a multistate basis. He is a member and former Chair of the Arkansas Tax Advisory Council, Vice-Chair of the Arkansas Bar Association Section of Taxation, and ex officio board member and tax counsel for the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. Boch also authors or coauthors the Arkansas chapters of Bloomberg BNA's Corporate Income Tax Navigator and Pass-Through Entity Navigator and the ABA Sales & Use Tax Deskbook. At the multistate level, Boch is a member of the SALT Executive Committee for the American Bar Association as well as the Independent SALT Alliance, and he is active in the Council on State Taxation and Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Boch has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star."
Arkansas Trucking Association is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
