Name: Live Webinar- Crash Trash: Using FMCSA's Preventability Program to Clean Your Record
Date: July 30, 2020
Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CDT
Event Description:
Presented by
P. Sean Garney, Scopelitis Transportation Consulting

Since the inception of FMCSA's Compliance, Safety, Accountability Program, the trucking industry has been criticizing its use of all crashes, regardless of fault or preventability to score motor carrier safety. Finally, 10 years after the program began, motor carriers can now use the Crash Preventability Determination Program to have eligible crashes removed from the calculation of their CSA scores.

Join this one-hour webinar to learn:
  • The history of the program and where it may go in the future
  • What specific crash scenarios are eligible (and which aren't)
  • Tips on how to successfully submit a request for data review
  • What safety, business, driver, and recruiting impacts the program may have on the trucking industry

P. Sean Garney has been in the trucking industry for nearly 20 years, holding roles as a dock worker, load scheduler, freight broker, industry advocate and government contractor. Prior to joining STC, Garney served as director of safety policy for the American Trucking Associations (ATA). He has served as an industry expert on topics ranging from Hours of Service, Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), and the FMCSA?s Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program, among others.

Garney has his masters in transportation policy, operations and logistics from George Mason University. He is an active member of several motor carrier industry associations and serves on several local citizens advisory boards focused on transportation.
