Register for the fourth quarter joint meeting of the Arkansas Trucking Association Safety Management Council and Maintenance & Technology Council on Thursday, November 17 at 10:30 am at Aloft 716 Rahling Road, Little Rock, AR 72223.

SESSION 1: Level 1 Roadside Inspection Presentation and Demonstration

Arkansas Highway Police 1st Lieutenant Timothy Gushing will discuss the Level 1 roadside inspections that law enforcement officers perform on equipment across the state.  After lunch, Lt. Gushing will answer questions and lead attendees outside to demonstrate an inspection on the Arkansas Road Team's official trailer.

Lt. Timothy Gushing is a 24-year veteran of law enforcement and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and ethics from Mid-American Christian University in Oklahoma City. During his career, he has been involved in every type of criminal investigation at the local, state and federal levels.  He has worked for the Arkansas Highway Police for 21 years, the last eight as the assistant commander for the 15 counties of northwest Arkansas.

Lt. Gushing has been recognized locally and nationally for his law enforcement work.
 
He has received several letters of appreciation from the DEA for his work in drug interdiction, Arkansas Law Enforcement Officer of the year 2006, 2008 largest criminal highway seizure of cocaine in the US, and 2014 North American Championship second place North American Standard Level V Passenger Inspection with an overall top 15 finish.

 

Arkansas Road Team Captain Dave Hall will assist Lt. Gushing in the demonstration.

Dave Hall has logged 3 million miles in his 29-year career as a professional driver. He is currently employed with ABF Freight. Hall likes to spend his free time camping and fishing.

Through visits to schools and events around the state, the Arkansas Road Team delivers their Share the Road program with hands-on illustrations and demonstrations on safe-driving best practices.   • For ATA members who submit their meeting registration by the deadline and attend the meeting, there is no fee.
  • ATA members who attend without registering or register but do not attend will be charged $25.
  • Out of courtesy, if you decide to attend after the registration deadline, please contact the ATA office.
  • ATA welcomes guests and non-members to Council meetings for $50.
